ROSEMARY REPEL(R) Shows Stellar 92 Percent Effective Rate; First For Non-Chemical Treatment
PASSAIC, N.J., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- As "super lice" become more resistant to some pharmaceutical remedies, a just released, independent study reveals that the all-natural head lice product line, Rosemary Repel Hair Care, has an over 92% effective rate in preventing lice from infesting hair follicles.
In an in-vitro research project using live lice, it was determined that Rosemary Repel Spray, marketed under the brand name Fairy Tales Hair Care for Children was highly effective in warding off lice from a treated hair sample.
Lice Solutions Resource Network, Inc., a nonprofit organization specializing in research, community education, as well as strand-by-strand removal treatments of head lice, conducted the new, independent in-vitro efficacy study.
"We believe this is the first independent research on a product with natural ingredients that deter head lice as opposed to chemical lice removal," according to Katie Shepherd, principal investigator and executive director.
The controlled tests involved placing two tufts of hair on either side of a midline drawn in 55 Petri dishes. Each dish contained one hair tuft treated with water and the other with one of four Rosemary Repel products (Spray, Gel, Conditioner and Shampoo) over 24 hours. The lice were placed on the midline and their position observed at predetermined intervals. According to Ms. Shepherd, "We determined that the product claims of repelling lice from human hair indeed have efficacy, based on our extensive testing."
Three other Rosemary Repel products achieved similarly significant results in resisting lice. Those products were Rosemary Repel Gel, Rosemary Repel Conditioner and Rosemary Repel Shampoo whi
