Sunshine Bloggers Discuss Affordability of Life Insurance

Following an August 29th Scoop San Diego article entitled “Getting the Right Life Insurance Balance”, Sunshine Bloggers voiced their opinion on the affordable nature of many life insurance policies—typically term life insurance policies, such as the policies provided by Maine term life insurance. Though many may consider life insurance a luxury in the face of financial hardship, life insurance is a core cog in planning for the future, ensuring that loved ones are able to maintain their standing of living and comfort after the death of an income-generating family member.

Scoop San Diego published an article on August 29th, questioning the United States’ troubling life insurance statistics. The author identifies U.S. citizen’s failure to purchase life insurance policies; 3 of every 10 citizens are not insured at all, while over 50% of those who are insured admit to being inadequately insured. Because September has been designated Life Insurance Awareness month, the author offered three possible reasons for the drop in life insurance purchases. The first potential reason concerns America’s economic climate; when times are tough, people tend toward letting all things that are not considered essentials go, including life insurance policies. The second postulated reason involves cost. Many Americans labor under a misapprehension that life insurance is far too expensive without actually looking into getting a policy quote.
