Sunquest Information Systems, Inc. ® announced that MedFusion®, of Dallas, Texas, has signed a business agreement to license laboratory information management, molecular diagnostics, and anatomic pathology software from Sunquest®.

(PRWEB) March 17, 2010 -- Sunquest Information Systems, Inc. ®, a leading provider of healthcare diagnostic information technology and outreach solutions, announced that MedFusion®, of Dallas, Texas, has signed a business agreement to license laboratory information management, molecular diagnostics, and anatomic pathology software from Sunquest®.

MedFusion specializes in applying advanced diagnostics to clinical practices and clinical trials, with a mission to improve patient care by creating and offering advances in the application of molecular diagnostics and personalized medicine. In addition to licensing Sunquest software, MedFusion will also contract with Sunquest for specific professional services to optimize the software’s benefits.
MedFusion selected Sunquest’s solutions after evaluating several available software products. The decision was based on the software’s capabilities, as well as the fact that both companies share a common vision centering on the important role the laboratory can play in enhancing future medical treatment.

“Licensing Sunquest® software was an important decision for our business as we execute our strategy associated with the trends in healthcare and in personalized medicine,” said Keith Laughman, CEO of MedFusion. “We are confident that Sunquest’s software will enable us to capitalize on the changes occurring today, as well as those that will emerge in the future and support us as our firm grows dramatically over the next twelve to eighteen months.”

“We are thrilled to establish this relationship with MedFusion, which shares our belief that advanced molecular and anatomic pathology testing will help medicine move towards developing treatments that are more customized to an individual’s specific genetic makeup,” commented Richard Atkin, President and CEO of Sunquest. “The future is exciting, and we’re happy to be working closely with another company that shares our vision.
