Studio Pulse in Redondo Beach Launches "Workout to Win" Challenge and Helps Clients Obtain Results Through Goal-Settting
Date:5/31/2013

Redondo Beach, CA (PRWEB) May 31, 2013

For one local boutique studio in Redondo Beach, it's not "just" about the workout. Studio Pulse, coming up on its 2 year anniversary, is offering its clients a more personalized approach to fitness. Owners Elise Hartley and Hedi Alavi know that people need a "reason" to work out and determining a desired outcome and setting a path to get there is critical. "At the studio, we help our clients with setting attainable goals that are measurable. We have added a live olive tree to the studio lobby where our customers can write down their goals and objectives as they relate to obtaining better health and fitness and hang them on the branches of the tree. "Once goals are written down and shared, they become more legitimate and people are more likely to stick to them," says Hartley. Olive trees are symbolic for many different reasons such as wisdom, health and peace but the reason for the olive tree at Studio Pulse is to add an element of purpose and setting intentions that drive behavior and actions. "We feel like it's a great addition because our clients read other people's goals & intentions and encourage one another, which leads to an environment of support and friendships," says Alavi.

Setting goals are critical for anyone who is trying to obtain anything worthwhile. Clear goals help people stay on track and focused, they are a path to results and offer a sense of reward once reached. Frequent goal-setting can help build confidence in people's ability to stick to their intentions as well as earning confidence once they achieve what they set out to do.

Elise Hartley, co-owner at Studio Pulse suggests the reasons why new fitness programs fail is because all too often people fail to determine a desired outcome (weight-loss, increase endurance for race, get fit for wedding/event, relieve stress, etc.); therefore, they lose sight of what they are working toward. Not setting a clear and attainable goal and a path to get there is another reason and lastly, if the first two are not established, lack of motivation and energy leads to an aversion to exersice.

Alternatively, when goals are set, people become excited and are driven and challenged to achieve what they have set in place. ”Our clients really want to see results and having insight into what our customer's goals are gives us more information so that we can take a more individual approach to help them reach their goals.

The olive tree was implemented at the same time as the launch of the Spring Challenge where people challenge themselves to take classes to get in shape for summer, raise money for charity and compete with other like-minded individuals for prizes offered by local businesses. "Combining these three elements, a challenge, charity and rewards creates an energy that makes people what to participate and keeps the competitive spirit alive and healthy amongst our members," says Elise Harltey. The challenge runs for 30 days and concludes with a “Ride for Charity” where all proceeds are donated to Cancer Support Community in Redondo Beach.
