Stryker Hip Recall News: Bernstein Liebhard LLP Notes Upcoming Status Conference in New Jersey Stryker Hip Lawsuits

The next Status Conference in the New Jersey Stryker hip lawsuit litigation underway in New Jersey Superior Court is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m., Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. Court records indicate that at least 145 Stryker hip recall claims have been filed in the proceeding on behalf of individuals who allegedly suffered metallosis, necrosis, osteolysis and other serious injuries related to the July 2012 recall for Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II Modular-Neck Hip Stems. (In re Stryker Rejuvenate Hip Stem and the ABG II Modular Hip Stem Litigation, No. 296)

“We have heard from numerous hip implant recipients who have allegedly suffered debilitating and painful complications associated with the Stryker hip recall. We certainly expect additional lawsuits to be filed in this litigation in the coming months,” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing the victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm continues to offer free Stryker Rejuvenate lawsuit evaluations to individuals affected by the Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II hip recall.

Stryker Hip Recall
The Stryker hip recall was announced in July 2012, after the Rejuvenate and ABG II hip stems were found to be prone to fretting and corrosion at the modular neck junction. Stryker has advised recipients of Rejuvenate and ABG II hip stems to undergo blood tests for elevated metal ion levels and cross sectional imaging to ensure the components are functioning properly, even in the absence of symptoms.* The Company also announced in January that it has partnered with third-party claims a
