Date:11/18/2013

(PRWEB) November 18, 2013

Strategic Radiology® (SR) announced today that Central Illinois Radiological Associates (CIRA) will join the SR network of large, clinically advanced groups geographically dispersed throughout the US. With the addition of CIRA, SR now comprises 17 leading radiology group practices, representing more than 1,200 radiologists dedicated to setting the standard for radiology excellence through quality care drawn from collaborative best practices.

“Now was the perfect time for us to connect with this progressive group of like minded, forward thinking physicians who make up the Strategic Radiology family,” said Sean Meagher, MD, President of CIRA. “The opportunity to share best practices on a national scale of this scope will provide our organization additional opportunities to stay on the leading edge of clinical quality, patient safety, and radiologic technology innovations.”

The SR consortium consists of large radiology practices that excel in the organization’s communal approach to sharing data and best practices, interchanging clinical practice information, and consolidating certain practice expenses. The goal of SR is to achieve higher quality and more cost efficient delivery of medical imaging.

“With the addition of CIRA to the SR network, we have immediately strengthened our presence within the Midwest states and grown our clinical expertise and radiology business intelligence to a whole new level," said Arl Van Moore, MD, Chairman and CEO of SR. "With the addition of CIRA, SR now has 17 of the nation’s leading radiology group practices engaged in active membership. The possibilities of what these groups can do working collaboratively together are truly endless.”

CIRA has been providing quality-focused, subspecialized healthcare since 1938. CIRA provides a comprehensive spectrum of both diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology procedures to 16 different medical facilities throughout the Midwest. The practice consists of 77 radiologists that offer expertise in many different subspecialty areas—neurointerventional surgery, vascular and interventional radiology, diagnostic radiology, breast imaging and intervention, women’s imaging, cardiothoracic imaging, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, oncologic imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, and pediatric radiology.

The ultimate goal of CIRA is to deliver unparalleled quality-focused healthcare, with broad expertise in a wide range of subspecialties and procedures. This coupled with compassionate, patient-centered care, state of the art technology, and the highest level of diagnostic interpretation for referring physicians, hospitals, and patients is “The CIRA Radiologic Difference.”
