Stater Bros. Raises $200,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Stater Bros. is pleased to announce that the Company, its customers and employees recently raised $200,000 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

For a two-and-a-half week period during the month of June, Stater Bros. customers and employees at all 165 Stater Bros. Supermarkets were given an opportunity to make a donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by purchasing "Light the Night" paper balloons for $1. In addition, Stater Bros. made a direct contribution to this "Light the Night" fundraising campaign.

All of the funds collected go back to the local communities served by Stater Bros. and will be used to support critical programs for cancer patients and research towards a cure.

The check presentation took place at the Stater Bros. Supermarket located at 47 West Nuevo Road in Perris, California. At this event, Store Managers and Clerks were honored for their outstanding efforts. Also in attendance was 9-year-old leukemia survivor Caleb Gennaway, who is healthy and was honored to be able to share his remarkable story with others.
