Stater Bros. Charities Kola Cares for Kids Radiothon Raises $161,300 for Loma Linda University Children's Hospital

All proceeds from the Radiothon will benefit the Children's Hospital

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, August 26 and Wednesday, August 27, 2008, Stater Bros. Charities, the newly established philanthropic arm of Stater Bros. Markets, presented the 6th Annual Stater Bros. Charities Kola Cares for Kids Radiothon. The Radiothon raised $161,300 and provided 628 KOLA Bears to bring comfort to patients at the Children's Hospital.

"Stater Bros. Charities was pleased to sign on as the presenting sponsor of this year's Radiothon benefiting the Loma Linda University Children's Hospital," stated Jack H. "With the economy struggling right now, we were proud to be able to step in and fill the gap to help our community children achieve a brighter and healthier future!"

All proceeds from the Radiothon will go directly to the Transport Team at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. The LLUCH Transport Team utilizes each KOLA bear in a very special way to help bring comfort to the children and families visiting the Children's Hospital.
