St. Cloud Orthopedic Associates to Partner with Surgical Care Affiliates

ST. CLOUD, Minn., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- St. Cloud Orthopedic Associates (SCOA), the largest orthopedic physician practice in Central Minnesota, announced today that they have chosen to partner with the St. Cloud Surgical Center, which is owned by Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA) and a group of local physicians. SCA is a leading provider of specialty surgical services.

This relationship will allow St. Cloud Surgical Center, which has provided high quality outpatient surgical services for 37 years and is located at 1526 Northway Drive, to expand its orthopedic surgical service offerings to complement its portfolio of other specialties, including otolaryngology, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, oral surgery, plastics, podiatry, gastroenterology and urology. SCA will continue to provide management services to the facility.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with St. Cloud Surgical Center and SCA. Our physicians have had a very favorable experience at the center, which has a long history of providing excellent patient care for St. Cloud and the surrounding area. We are also impressed with SCA's involvement in the center and by their comprehensive operational platform that will help us augment our services into the future," said Dr. Andrew Staiger, one of SCOA's physician partners. "Surgical centers are high quality, low cost providers of outpatient surgical services, creating substantial savings for both the patient and the healthcare system. This is an excellent center where both my partners and I can serve our patients," said Staiger.

Andrew Hayek, President and CEO of SCA said, "We are excited about the opportunity to partner with this extraordinary group of physicians in St. Cloud. This partnership will allow the physicians utilizing the center to focus on clinical excellence while leveraging SCA's nationwide infrastructure and support service. This is another step forward in SCA's plan to expand its services to more physicians and surgery centers across the country."
