Wickenheiser is one of only two women named to the Top 25 list, which was published on the Sports Illustrated Web site April 1. She keeps good company on the list of "never-say-die" candidates, which ranks golf great Tiger Woods as the toughest athlete and NBA standout Kobe Bryant as 13th. Twenty-nine-year-old Wickenheiser is captain of the Canadian women's hockey team, which captured the silver medal during the 2008 IIHF World Women's Championship in Harbin, China, on April 12.

"Mannatech and Team Mannatech are extremely proud to have Hayley on our team," said former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Butch Johnson, Mannatech's senior director of community affairs and sports marketing. "Hayley is a fierce competitor who has been a four-time world champion, a two-time Olympic gold medalist (Salt Lake City 2002, Turin 2006), a silver Olympic medalist (Nagano 1998) and has been named one of the '100 Most Influential People in Hockey' by The Hockey News."

The Calgary resident was named the MVP in Team Canada's gold medal hockey win during the 2006 Winter Olympics. She is a member of Team Mannatech, a group of international sports figures and athletes who serve as role models for today's wellness generation. These celebrated sports figures and athletes have chosen to achieve and maintain optimal health through the utilization of cutting-edge training techniques, proper nutrition and the use of Mannatech supplements.

Wickenheiser takes an assortment of Mannatech's glyconutritional, antioxidant and vitamin/mineral dietary supplements. Like the other 200 Team Mannatech athletes representing eight countries, Wickenheiser is not paid to consume Mannatech products. The athletes endorse Mannatech products because they believe it helps them achieve and maintain optimal performance. Mannatech products do not contain any of the banned substances listed by the World Anti-Doping Agency, which promotes and monitors the fight against doping in sports.

In its Top 25 tough athletes list, Sports Illustrated said of the 5-foot-10-inch, 170-pound Wickenheiser: "No player in women's hockey drives to the net with such purpose and fury. Wickenheiser has grown from teen phenom to grande dame of Canadian hockey, carrying the weight of her country and game every time on the ice."
