Spodak Dental Group Appoints Prominent Anesthesiologist to Oversee All I.V. Sedation Dental Cases
Date:8/18/2009

Providing high standards of care for I.V. sedation dentistry.

Delray Beach, FL (PRWEB) August 18, 2009 -- Spodak Dental Group announces the addition to its medical staff of Steve Kiffel, M.D., a board-certified anesthesiologist. Dr. Kiffel is responsible for overseeing all I.V. sedation cases in order to guarantee the highest level of patient care. Although the dentists at Spodak Dental Group are trained to perform I.V. sedation, owner Craig Spodak, D.M.D. chose to add the expertise of Dr. Kiffel out of an abundance of caution.

"We at Spodak Dental Group believe patients deserve the highest standard of care, professionalism and safety, and in the case of I.V. sedation dentistry that means providing an experienced anesthesiologist in addition to our highly trained dentists," said Dr. Spodak. "Dr. Kiffel is an expert in anesthesiology, with an incredible background in this field. His new position on staff at Spodak Dental Group ensures that our patients will receive the highest level of care and safety possible outside of a hospital setting, while undergoing I.V. sedation for mild, moderate or serious dental procedures."

I.V. sedation dentistry involves the use of a common mild sedative widely used by the medical community. Patients remain conscious throughout the sedation period, but will not experience any physical pain, stress, or anxiety during the dental procedure, nor will they retain any memories of the procedure itself.

I.V. sedation dentistry has been in increasing demand by patients, many of whom face extreme anxiety when undergoing even routine dental procedures. According to Dr. Kiffel, I.V. sedation can also be used as "cardiac protection" for elderly and overweight patients who experience high levels of anxiety when visiting a dentist's office.

In order to ensure patient safety and comfort, Dr. Kiffel will fully monitor all
