Spine Surgeon from China Visits Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center
Date:2/12/2010

Dr. Zhangyong is visiting with top U.S. surgeons in preparation of opening a spine trauma center in Daqing, China.

(PRWEB) February 12, 2010 -- Chinese spine surgeon Dr. Zhangyong will be with Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center in metro Denver until Feb. 18, 2010. Panorama is the third and final stop on Dr. Zhangyong’s six-month tour of some of the top spine centers in the United States. Zhangyong chose Panorama because of its close relationship with St. Anthony Hospital Level 1 Trauma Center. Panorama manages all orthopedic trauma at St. Anthony Hospital, including spine fractures and spinal cord injuries.

Zhangyong has been visiting with and learning from some of the nation's top surgeons. He then plans to return to China to open a spine trauma center in his hometown of Daqing. Located about 600 miles north east of Beijing, Daqing is home to nearly 2.6 million people, and currently has no spine trauma centers.

“We are extremely pleased to have Dr. Zhangyong here at Panorama and St. Anthony Hospital,” says Dr. Courtney Brown, a leading local spine surgeon and past president of the Scoliosis Research Society. “It is our philosophy to share our expertise whenever possible and help other countries provide better medical care for their people.”

Panorama has had numerous physicians visit its facilities and has also sent its own doctors to countries like China, Ukraine, and South Korea.
