Spice Addiction Treatment and Synthetic Marijuana Drug Rehab Announced by Recovery Associates
Date:5/18/2013

Miami, Florida (PRWEB) May 18, 2013

Adolescents, especially young males, who experiment with synthetic marijuana that’s also known as “Spice” or “K2” are landing in emergency rooms across America. Recovery Associates is helping to curb this drug epidemic with a new treatment program for those addicted to spice and synthetic marijuana.

According to research from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, synthetic marijuana has become the second-most popular illegal drug among American teenagers. In 2012, 11 percent of high school seniors had used synthetic marijuana in the past year. Specifically, 14 percent of male and 8 percent of female high school seniors abused synthetic marijuana. In 2010, 11,406 emergency room visits were directly tied to synthetic marijuana use. To read more see this article here: http://www.drugabuse.gov/drugs-abuse/k2spice-synthetic-marijuana

Synthetic marijuana has been described by some as a safer alternative to marijuana itself. Yet the addictive cravings for synthetic marijuana appear to match those for marijuana, too.

Recovery Associates offers a Teen Rehab Track that gives adolescents direction, guidance and support for getting away from synthetic marijuana and other harmful substances.

Recovery Associates is a drug and alcohol treatment center that provides a variety of programs and services for men, women and teens struggling with chemical dependency issues. At the core of their philosophy is the belief that addiction is a treatable illness. Their addiction treatment experience has shown that anyone is capable of achieving lasting recovery and physical, mental and spiritual freedom from the disease of addiction.

Their unique program offers different tracks. Along with the Teen Rehab Track, there is a Traditional Track, an Expressive Therapies Track, and a Christian Rehab Track. They believe that by utilizing a variety of therapies they can better assist their clients in finding their own individualized path to recovery. Their focus is on the underlying issues that have led to the addictive behaviors and destructive patterns.

Recovery Associates’ multidisciplinary team is made up of a Board Certified Addictions Psychiatrist, Master’s Level Therapists and Certified Addictions Counselors. They are passionate about recovery and helping individuals and families begin the healing process.
