Specialty Surgery Center to Partner With Surgical Care Affiliates

GREENBRAE, Calif., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Marin Specialty Surgery Center in Greenbrae, California today announced that it has partnered with Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA), the country's leading provider of specialty surgical services. Marin Specialty Surgery Center is a multi-specialty center offering orthopedics, podiatry, general surgery, plastic, urology, gynecology and GI services. SCA will own the center with 26 physicians practicing in the area. SCA will also provide management services. Evelyn Shapiro will continue as the administrator of the center.

"We have been in business since 2001. Given the increasing complexity of running a surgery center we decided to seek an operating partner. After reviewing several possibilities we have selected SCA to join us in this capacity due to their impressive and comprehensive platform which will augment our services in the future," said Dr. Harry Neuwirth, one of the original organizers of the center.
