Speakers for Upcoming Dual-Eligibles Virtual Conference Include Top Executives from UnitedHealthcare, Amerigroup

Atlantic Information Services is pleased to announce the speakers for its upcoming Oct. 8 virtual conference, “Dual Eligibles Program Implementation.” Split into four sessions led by many of the nation’s foremost duals experts, including health plan executives and top consultants from companies such as UnitedHealthcare, Gorman Health Group, WellPoint's Amerigroup and WellCare, the conference will provide guidance on issues such as benefit design, enrollment processes, provider contract restructuring, and performance measurement and improvement.

The sessions and panelists are:

  • An Overview of Who Is Doing What Both Inside and Outside the CMS Initiative, featuring two Gorman Health Group consultants who are both former senior executives of health plans that have major stakes in government programs — Robb Cohen, senior vice president of public policy; and Bill MacBain, senior vice president of finance.
  • Benefit Design in Duals Initiatives, featuring Catherine Anderson, vice president, health policy for UnitedHealthcare Community and State; and Rhys Jones, vice president, Medicare and dual eligible policy and market development in the specialty products group of WellPoint, Inc.’s Amerigroup Medicaid Business Unit.
  • Enrollment Issues: Outreach, Processes and Minimizing ‘Opt-Outs’, featuring Peter Harbage, president of Harbage Consulting and California’s consultant on its dual-eligibles initiative; and Jeff Viohl, founder and president of Viohl & Associates Inc., a government relations consulting firm.
  • Assessing the Performance of Duals Programs: Strategies for Detecting and Fixing Problems, featuring John Baackes, president, VIP plans for The AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies; Alan Smith, M.
