Southern California Veterinary Hospital Rescued From the Scrap Heap

LOS ANGELES, March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The newest and largest facility of its kind in Southern California was rescued from demolition by the new owner of the Singita Animal Sanctuary, located in Sylmar, just 3 miles from the 210 Freeway on Little Tujunga Canyon Road.

Funny Man and television personality Buddy Hackett and his wife Sherry Hackett co-founded the Singita Animal Sanctuary back in 2003. Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich and other celebrities attended the Hospital's ground breaking ceremony on June 19, 2004. The Animal Sanctuary declared bankruptcy in 2007 after funding stopped due to the passing of Mrs. Hackett.

Initially built by Hamilton Construction, a specialized health care contractor, the two-story, 12,000 sq. ft. facility was intended to become a landmark. 75% completed, the Hospital still needed a substantial investment for its rehabilitation and completion. This $3 million dollar steel-framed two-story fully compliant hospital facility was designed as a state of the art building. Because of its size and location this facility is ideal for large animals and horses.

The current owner of this unique property decided to complete the project for the benefit of the community and the County of Los Angeles.

The new owner has engaged the services of Sanjo Investments and Beitler Commercial Real Estate's San Fernando Valley office to jointly market this state of the art veterinarian hospital. These firms have combined 55 years in Commercial Real Estate services, asset management, tenant representation, sales and leasing.

The facility is a landmark for Los Angeles County, the City of Los Angeles and it will be a fine and needed addition to the Equine Community of Sylmar, nearby Foothill, Santa Clarita, Saugus, Lancaster and communities along the 118 (Ronald Reagan) freeway.
