Quality of Care and Improved Business Performance to Facilities in

Long-Term Care

PITTSBURGH, July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Vocollect Healthcare Systems, Inc. and SouthMed, Inc., a leading provider of equipment, supplies and integrated communications solutions for the healthcare market, announce a strategic partnership, whereby SouthMed will resell AccuNurse voice-assisted care as part of its long-term care solutions offerings to its customer base, which comprises Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and southern Virginia.

"The partnership with Vocollect Healthcare Systems brings the power of voice to our customers," said Johnny Moore, president of SouthMed, Inc. "Voice-assisted care is among the most innovative solutions for the long-term care market, and nicely complements our product offerings and communications solutions such as our nurse call systems. By adding AccuNurse to our solutions offerings, we are better enabling customers to significantly improve their facilities' bottom line and, most importantly, provide better quality of care for residents -- nothing is closer to the point-of-care or easier to use."

"SouthMed is following its mission to bring more solutions to customers and make them more successful," said James Quasey, President of Vocollect Healthcare Systems. "Facilities in long-term care benefit from voice-assisted care by having the ability to support facility-wide, resident-centered services at the point-of-care.
