Date:4/11/2016

Benzer Pharmacy, the Tampa-based chain of 56 retail pharmacies in the US that specializes in excellent customer service and specialty drugs medication management programs for people with complex chronic diseases, has partnered with Visiting Angels of Southeast Florida, a Nurse Registry serving Palm Beach and Broward Counties, to offer Remind-a-Cap, the innovative, new prescription pill bottle cap that schedules the next dose and increases compliance among patients.

Under the partnership, Benzer Pharmacy will be the exclusive pharmacy for Visiting Angels of Southeast Florida’s local Family Advantages Program. In addition to prescriptions with complimentary Remind-a-Cap pill bottle tops, Visiting Angels clients will receive individual care through their local pharmacy, a personal relationship with their pharmacist and team, no-cost delivery and shipping of all medications, and discounts and coupons when available.

“At Benzer, we treat our customers like family, and our goal is to provide them with the finest and most accessible healthcare solutions,” said Alpesh Patel, President of Benzer Pharmacy. “We believe that our landmark partnership with Visiting Angels to offer Remind-a-Cap, along with a host of other benefits will improve the health of our patients, and that this will become a comprehensive model of integrated and sustained patient care for the rest of the country in a time of a dramatically changing healthcare landscape.”

Benzer Pharmacy, which will be rolling out Remind-a-Cap in its 30 Florida locations, plans to make the new prescription pill bottle cap available to its all customers in its stores nationwide.

“We are thrilled to partner with Benzer Pharmacies to offer Remind-a-Cap as part of a package of benefits that we believe will help to improve the outcomes for our clients,” said Lori Dahan, Owner and Director at Visiting Angels of Southeast Florida. “We see this exciting partnership with Benzer and Remind-a-Cap as a major step toward ensuring the health and safety of our clients, making a difference in their lives, and the lives of their families.”

Remind-a-Cap tackles the billion-dollar adherence epidemic for pharmaceutical brands, retail and specialty pharmacies and healthcare providers with an economic, user-friendly device. Remind-a-Cap’s patented solution, an easy-to-use dial inside the cap of medical bottles, offers each patient the ability to take control of their own medication regimen. After twisting a dial on the underside of the bottle top, patients can literally see when they need to take their next dose of medicine by simply looking at the top of the cap. “Remind-a-Cap is proud to have brought together two premier organizations in healthcare,” said Mathew Ramoundos, EVP, Director of Operations at Remind-a-Cap. “Both Benzer and Visiting Angels are fighting on the front lines to help patients get the best possible care available. Compliance is the number one challenge facing patient care in the U.S., and we know that by offering Remind-a-Cap to thousands of patients in Florida, we will be a valuable piece to the puzzle. Benzer Pharmacy and Visiting Angels will be helping their patients take control of their prescription medication regimen by providing them with an easy-to-use solution to maintain and monitor the correct dosage.”
