SonicSurg Innovations Signs Strategic Alliance Agreement with Hitachi Aloka Medical, Ltd.

SonicSurg Innovations, LLC, a development stage company that is commercializing products for the orthopaedic upper extremity surgical market, announced today that it has signed a Strategic Alliance Agreement with Hitachi Aloka Medical, Ltd., Wallingford, CT. Hitachi Aloka Medical introduced the world’s first ultrasound system and is the global leader and innovator in ultrasound technology. SonicSurg products utilize ultrasound technology as a surgical navigational tool.

SonicSurg founder, Brian M. Jurbala, M.D., commented, "This alliance provides us with industry leading ultrasound technology to support our surgical applications and a strong global partner for future product development efforts." The Agreement offers provisions for co-marketing programs, continuing medical education course support, and product development resource assistance.

The next coordinated project will be an MSK Ultrasound Course chaired by Dr. Jurbala, being held in Philadelphia on Sept 21 & 22. The course will train orthopaedic surgeons in the use of diagnostic ultrasound and include injection techniques and an interventional procedure cadaver lab. Additionally, new product development efforts are scheduled to begin in the next 90 days.
