Solon Manufacturing Co. Sells Food, Dairy, Paint, & Craft Businesses; To focus on their growing Medical Device Business

Today Solon Manufacturing announced that it is selling off it's Food, Dairy, Paint, and Craft businesses to focus on their growing Medical business according to Ken Shaw a Vice President with the privately held company.

North Haven, Conn. (PRWEB) October 23, 2009 -- Solon Manufacturing Co., a leading maker of single use disposable products for the medical, industrial and diagnostic fields, today announced the sale of certain assets of its Food, Dairy, Paint, and Craft businesses to Global Sticks, Inc. The sale includes technology, equipment and inventory, and was concluded today.
   
"This sale will give Solon a singular focus of becoming a top tier manufacturer of disposable products for the medical community," said Ken Shaw, vice president, Solon Manufacturing.
   
Global Sticks is currently building a new, modern, 60,000 square foot wooden stick manufacturing facility in Thunder Bay, Ontario. When completed this factory will have the ability to provide up to 5 billion sticks annually to a worldwide marketplace.     "We are thrilled that we entered into this sale with Solon, not only will we utilize their technology and equipment, but we also look forward to servicing the many large Ice Cream novelty companies they were supplying," said Reggie Nukovic, President, Global Sticks.
   
Solon will continue to manufacture medical products out of its state-of-the-art ISO 13485: 2003 FDA-registered facility in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. "Solon Medical customers will benefit by having a supplier focused on delivering product innovations within its core disposables medical business.
