Vero Beach Mayor Thomas P. White to Attend Official Opening Ceremony

October 9, from 2-6 p.m.

VERO BEACH, Fla., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida-based health care provider Solantic will continue its ambitious expansion program, opening a full-service walk-in urgent care center in Vero Beach, FL on September 24, 2008. A grand opening ceremony will be held on October 9, 2008, from 2-6 p.m. where Vero Beach Mayor, Thomas P. White will cut the ribbon at 2:30 p.m.

Solantic offers medical treatments by board-certified physicians and is open extended hours. Services include urgent care, x-rays, immunizations, blood work, and physicals. Additionally, Solantic offers occupational health services including treatment of work related injuries, pre-employment and job specific physicals and drug screens.

"Vero Beach and Indian River County welcome Solantic to our community," said Vero Beach Mayor Thomas P. White. "Solantic is a place where citizens needing urgent care can come 7 days a week for professional medical attention, at a reasonable cost."

This is the company's second center on the Treasure Coast, with the first clinic opening in Port St. Lucie on August 15. Both area centers are part of an expansion plan throughout the state of Florida with 19 centers currently open and an expected 1,000 locations nationwide over the next few years.

"Our managed care partners and local employers identified Vero as an opportunity to provide an alternative to the high cost of an emergency room visit. In 2006, the consumer spent an average of over $693 for a lower level emergency room visit to an Indian River county hospital," said Karen Bowling, CEO of Solantic. "If these patients had been treated at Solantic, they would have realized an overall savings of approximately $19 million in 2006 alone, and $8 million for the uninsured."

"Urgent care provides a unique service to our community," stated Gerard Koziel, Director of Risk Management and Employee Benefits for the Indian River County School District. "A quality healthcare provider like Solantic will give our school district parents and employees peace of mind knowing that their families' healthcare needs can be addressed during extended hours and by board-certified physicians."

The Vero Beach Solantic facility is located at 1820 58th Avenue, Unit 110. It is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the week and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.

About Solantic

Richard Scott and Karen Bowling started Solantic in 2001 with a mission of Providing Convenient Health Care At A Fair Price With As Little Hassle As Possible. From day one, the founders focused on attracting individuals with a passion for patients and the desire to keep costs and thus, prices as low as possible. Solantic centers are open every day of the year with extended hours. Each center has digital X-ray and lab services on-site. Solantic was among the first health care providers in the country to set forth its prices in its lobby on a Starbucks style menu board. Urgent care physician visits are capped at $189. A comparable visit in the emergency room would cost in excess of $1,500.
