Date:11/11/2008

Home Testing Has Become an Important Employee Benefit for Health-Conscious

Employer

SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- BioIQ (http://www.bioiq.com), a leading supplier of health screening and data management services, announced today that QAD, a developer of enterprise resource planning and supply chain software, is offering BioIQ's home test kits to its entire U.S. workforce. Using the latest biometric testing technologies and powered by BioIQ's web-based data analysis and reporting software, QAD is offering the BioIQ health screening program to more than 600 people in 38 states.

In addition to providing QAD employees and their dependents with a user-friendly kit to screen for diabetes and heart disease, the BioIQ service enables them to discover disease risk factors via an interactive health assessment. Participants order the kits online, test themselves at home, mail a tiny blood sample to BioIQ's lab, and then view test results through secure, password-protected accounts. BioIQ also provides certified health coaches via a toll-free number. Additional information can be downloaded at http://www.bioiq.com/press/bioiq_fact_sheet.pdf.

"Our biggest asset is our workforce," commented Murray Ray, chief people officer at QAD. "BioIQ is one of the health care benefits that positions us as a caring employer."

BioIQ will roll out and administer QAD's health-screening program, including signing up participants, delivering test kits, presenting lab results, and creating aggregate health reports for management. Participants are encouraged to share their lab reports with a doctor for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.

"BioIQ empowers individuals with critical information about their health and alerts employers to important trends within the workforce, such as a high incidence of diabetes or pre-diabetes," said Justin Bellante, CEO of BioIQ.

According to Mr. Bellante, employers that have implemented BioIQ's home-testing programs have boosted participation in their health-screening initiatives by as much as 100 percent. These higher participation rates have a positive impact on a company's bottom line. The American Institute for Preventive Medicine calculates direct and indirect savings of between $3.93 and $5.93 for every $1 spent on work-site wellness programs, citing more than 100 studies on the subject published over the last ten years ("The Health & Economic Implications of Worksite Wellness Programs," 2008).

Mr. Ray acknowledged these potential cost savings and also emphasized the intangible benefit of letting employees and dependents conduct private health screenings at home. "BioIQ lets us turn a very negative thing -- the rising cost of health care benefits -- into something very positive: a way to differentiate ourselves from other companies," he said. "By improving our employee value proposition, we increase our ability to attract and retain good talent."

BioIQ (http://www.bioiq.com) is a health care IT company that develops and markets health screening solutions for diabetes, cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, thyroid disorder, and osteoporosis.
