Des Plaines, IL (PRWEB) January 23, 2009 -- Permanent Makeup enters the future and endures the tough economy through the guidance of the SPCP. Permanent Cosmetic Professionals worldwide will convene for the always well attended annual convention hosted by the SPCP. This year the convention and trade show will be held March 14-16 in Las Vegas.

The theme of the 2009 SPCP Convention is "Crystal Ball: A Look into the Future". The event will be held at the Renaissance Hotel & Resort - a boutique hotel by Las Vegas standards with contemporary decor, impeccable service and high-tech amenities in a non-gaming, smoke-free atmosphere.

SPCP Convention 2009 will provide the ideal venue to help ensure business longevity by allowing the permanent makeup professional to focus on what's really important; the challenges of the future and our business.

Pre-Convention Dates:
Train the Trainer: March 12 & 13, 2009
Bloodborne Pathogen Standards & Evening vendor preview: March 13, 2009

Highlights of this year's SPCP Convention include:
Specialized first aid training (certificate provided) by the Red Cross. It is highly advised for all technicians to attend this class which includes information on maintaining a safe, hazard free workplace environment acceptable by both the CDC and OSHA. Space will be limited, so sign early.

Industry leaders and acclaimed speakers will address critical topics of the permanent cosmetics industry:
Lesley DeDecker CPCP will share her techniques and tips, presenting an eyeliner procedure with a digital machine.
Rose Ann Cloud CPCP will then present a brow procedure using the NeoTat machine.
Mary Jane Haake CPCP will let us know "The Benefits of Saying No". Not every prospective client is candidate for permanent cosmetics and we need to know when to say 'no', whether it is a first time client or a correction procedure.
Elizabeth Finch-Howell CPCP, President of the SPCP will discuss the often misinformed mystery of what is in our pigment bottles.
Gary Radelat CPA will address IRS issues and offer advice on the best direction to take when setting up a business or modifying an existing one.
Gustavo Colon, MD will focus on facial procedures, breast surgery, scar revision and other plastic surgery issues that relate to and affect permanent cosmetic procedures.
Liza Sims CPCP will round out the lineup as she humors the group with her antics. The audience will participate by trying to "Stump the Chump" as LiZa shares her insightful solutions to awkward situations in the work place.
Hands-on presentations, "SPCP style" through video format that includes even the touch up visit. These presentations are more popular every year!
The largest assembly of top-quality permanent cosmetic vendors with the latest state of the art products available, as well as SPCP products designed exclusively for SPCP members. Vendor room hours have been extended this year!
Vendor classroom presentations to inform attendees of the latest products available.
A special awards presentation at the Annual Members Meeting for those who have been proactive in the industry and who have become Certified Permanent Cosmetic Professionals, (CPCP).
Panel of Experts -- continued by popular demand!
Networking at its finest! Participate in the networking reception - share experiences with people who have a common goal - achieving excellence through education.
With help from SPCP Las Vegas member Karla Kwist, this year the SPCP convention will adopt a local Las Vegas women's shelter; The Shade Tree and all attendees are asked to donate personal care items such as hair brushes, combs, toothpaste, etc. A bin will be set up for donations at the registration desk.
