SocialWellth™ and Validic Launch Unique Digital Experience for the “Quantified Self” Movement
Date:12/9/2013

Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 09, 2013

SocialWellth, a digital health social engagement company, and Validic, a mHealth active device data integrator announced their collaboration to enable healthcare sponsors access to meaningful data from mHealth apps and devices to deliver a hyper-connected experience to their members. This joint collaboration was announced at the opening of the 5th annual mHealth Summit in Washington DC.

By 2015, more than 500 million consumers are expected to use health apps on their mobile device alone. But with over 40,000 health-related apps already in the market today, it can be difficult for consumers to know which apps might be right for them. SocialWellth’s mWellth™ App Curation and Certification Program addresses this challenge by helping consumers navigate the largely unregulated industry of health and wellbeing apps.

As health plans and providers build a closer and connected relationship with their members and patients to improve health and wellness, the ‘Quantified Self’ movement takes prominence. However, today, consumers self-track their activity data with limited or no sharing of this data with their healthcare sponsors. Enabling access to data from a comprehensive suite of mHealth apps and devices allows health coaches to monitor activities such as steps, logging calories their members are tracking and drive digital engagement. The SocialWellth-Validic collaboration enables healthcare sponsors to achieve this objective in a very unique way by bringing micro insights to life in a compelling experience for end consumers.

SocialWellth’s digital health curation gateway integrates and aggregates propriety and third party Digital Interventions (Apps) together into a user-friendly marketplace. “My vision of digital curation is all about pulling together, sifting through disparate data and artifacts and uniquely positioning for presentation ‘Just In Time,’ ” said David Vinson, Founder, and CEO of SocialWellth. “Leveraging Validic’ s active device data connector, which currently supports over 80 integrations including Fitbit, Jawbone, Nike+, and Withings, transforms the ways in which we collaborate and innovate,” he added.

“The Validic and SocialWellth partnership is a big step toward realizing the power of mobile health for influencing health behavior and improving care,” said Ryan Beckland, CEO of Validic.
