Social Security Disability Applicants Increase Chances for Benefits with Representation

the Social Security Administration (SSA) that provides monthly benefits to individuals who are under full retirement age (age 65 or older) and who can no longer work because of a disability (injury, illness or condition) that is expected to last for 12 months or is terminal. Individuals must have paid FICA taxes to be eligible. More details are provided in the "SSDI Overview" on Allsup.com.

Choosing Non-Attorney Representation Earlier
Similar to hiring tax help, people have options when selecting SSDI representation. Non-attorney representatives, such as those at Allsup, provide significant knowledge, expertise and experience with the disability process.

"One of the biggest misunderstandings out there is that people cannot get help when they first apply for Social Security disability benefits," said Mr. Bueltemann. "Many people think they must be denied one or two times before they get representation. This simply is not true."

Allsup's award rate for people making their first application is 53 percent compared with the SSA standard of 35 percent. "Many Allsup claimants find out that they can get their benefits more quickly and earlier with our help," he said.

Another point of confusion is that someone must hire an attorney for this service. Since Allsup began its business 25 years ago, more than 110,000 people have gotten their SSDI benefits with the help of the company, which has
