medical conditions from headache, low back pain, arthritis, erectile dysfunction to obesity, and now the sleep apnea has been reportedly linked to the most mysterious medical conditions, even no common diagnosis and therapy could be indicative for.

It was estimated that more than 95-97% of sleep apnea sufferers were never diagnosed. Even for those patients already diagnosed with sleep apnea, it was reported that only less than 20% of them have good tolerance and compliance with the prescribed gold CPAP therapy, and more than 60% to 80% of patients already diagnosed with sleep apnea have no or poor tolerance with or benefit from standard medical treatment with CPAP or surgery. It was also reported more than 20% of U.S. population may suffer from sleep apnea. As more research worldwide has indicated, from Dr. Jin Zhou's research impression, that more than 90% of population at age of 65 or above, 60 to 80% of adult population and 20% of children population may suffer from sleep apnea in different degrees. The economic value is estimated at more than trillions of dollars for the medical expenses associated with treating sleep apnea related major deadly medical conditions and chronic medical conditions, and the estimated labor production losses due to sleep apnea, as well as deadly accidents due to sleep apnea drivers. It is medically critically important and economically significant that a successful clinical resolution to timely diagnosis and effectively control of, or even cure for, sleep apnea could possibly save millions of lives and hundreds of trillions of dollars worldwide and could possibly revolutionize modern medical practice. That is why NTSB has recently recommended for sleep apnea screening for all commercial pilots and drivers.
