Sleep More, Lose Weight – Sleeplessness Linked to Obesity

Houston, TX – February 23, 2010 – Recent studies have demonstrated a link between sleeplessness and obesity. Sleep deprived people are more hungry and cannot control their dietary urges, such as carbohydrate cravings. Could we lose weight by simply sleeping more? Dr. David Summers, the medical research scientist behind Somniac PM, seems to think so. “There is a direct link between sleep deprivation and obesity. The body releases a hormone called Leptin while sleeping. This is a hormone that tells the brain to stop eating when the stomach is full.
