BOSTON, March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Sleep HealthCenters has recently entered into a partnership with Milton Hospital, an affiliate of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, to develop and manage a sleep medicine program at the Reedsdale Road location. Beginning this month, Sleep HealthCenters will perform diagnostic sleep studies at Milton Hospital with plans to open a clinic offering CPAP therapy in the future.
"We are pleased to bring sleep medicine to Milton Hospital's patients and referring provider network," said Paul Valentine, CEO of Sleep HealthCenters. "We look forward to providing the highest level of sleep medicine care."
In addition to conducting sleep studies, Sleep HealthCenters provides physician consults, patient monitoring, patient education, and follow-up care for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) patients including Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) devices. Sleep HealthCenters is the largest provider of comprehensive sleep services in New England.
"Sleep disorders are often-overlooked conditions that can greatly impair a person's wellbeing," said Joseph Morrissey, president of Milton Hospital. "We have completely renovated two rooms to create warm, comfortable "sleep suites" for patients undergoing sleep studies. With these new rooms and a state-of-the-art control center, we can now provide expert clinical diagnoses and customized treatments that will help our patients get the most of their sleep."
According to the National Sleep Foundation's website, the number of scientific studies showing correlations between poor and insufficient sleep and other diseases are rising. Cardiovascular disease, diabetes and stroke have all been linked to a lack of sleep or poor sleep.
Sleep HealthCenters created Sleep and You, an educational website, with the goal of raising awareness about sleep, sleep disorders and issues impacting sleep.
Milton Hospital is a clinical affiliate of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center located in Milton, Massachusetts serving Quincy, Braintree, Randolph, Canton, Hyde Park, Dorchester and other local communities. Recently expanded, services include general medical and surgical inpatient care, 24-hour emergency services in a renovated and expanded Emergency Department and a complete complement of outpatient health services.
