Skechers Injury Lawsuit Filed on Behalf of an Alabama Man Who Suffered Severe Leg Fracture Allegedly Due to Skechers Shape-Ups Toning Shoes, by Wright & Schulte LLC

This Skechers fracture lawsuit joins numerous others filed by Wright & Schulte LLC against Skechers in the Multidistrict Litigation under U.S. District Court Judge Thomas B. Russell. Richard W. According to the Skechers injury complaint, the plaintiff purchased Skechers toning shoes online from his home in Mobile, Alabama on May 20, 2011. After two weeks, the plaintiff began wearing the Skechers Shape-Ups toning shoes during his daily activities. On June 9, 2012, the plaintiff was walking in his driveway when the Skechers Shape-Ups suddenly turned inward, causing the plaintiff’s right ankle to collapse. The plaintiff was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with a severe fracture to his right ankle and leg. The plaintiff immediately underwent surgery to repair the fracture.

Because of the severity of the fractures, the plaintiff was hospitalized for days, and was confined to a wheelchair for three months. He will also be forced to undergo additional surgeries in the future. The Skechers injury lawsuit claims that the plaintiff’s life has been drastically altered because of Skechers Shape-Ups toning shoes and that he is unable to perform daily tasks and lives in constant pain.

The Skechers injury lawsuit alleges that the manufacturers of Skechers Shape-Ups toning shoes knew the footwear produced a substantial risk of causing chronic injuries and inducing falls because the unstable rocker-bottom sole of the shoe alters gait mechanics and creates instability.
