Showers Expected on Michigan Avenue Friday!
Date:9/29/2009

CHICAGO, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Hooters, Inc., announced today that breast cancer fighting icon, Dusty Showers, will be visiting Hooters and the Chicago area on Friday, October 2, 2009, to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wearing his trademark pink bra and pink cowboy hat, Showers plans to begin his walk outside Sak's Fifth Avenue, continue down Michigan Avenue, and end his walk at the Hooters on the corner of Erie and Wells, in downtown Chicago.

Hooters Restaurants became involved in the fight against breast cancer when one of their own, Kelly Jo Dowd, a manager at Hooters and a former Hooters Girl, discovered she had breast cancer in 2002. Ms. Dowd immediately went on the offensive, working daily to help inform other women around the world and throughout the Hooters chain to get checked early and get checked often. Although Kelly Jo lost her fight with breast cancer in 2007, the Hooters system remains committed to eradicating this disease, continuing the fight in Kelly Jo's name.

Dusty Showers, a long-time friend of Hooters, is bringing signed collectibles and memorabilia with him, autographed by the Hooters Girls from the original Hooters in Clearwater, Florida, which also happens to be Dusty's hometown. These gifts will be given away to lucky customers at Hooters on Erie and Wells, where Dusty, as well as his friends and supporters, will gather for lunch and the gift giveaway. Mr. Showers will also participate in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day 60 Mile Walk. To find out more about Mr. Showers, visit www.ImWithDusty.com.
