GREEN BAY, Wis., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Shopko Eyecare Centers are proud to announce the addition of "Erin's World" frames to their children's eyewear collection.
While searching for frames for her then 2-year old daughter, Maria Dellapina saw a need, as both an optician and a mother to a child with Down Syndrome. Frustrated with how "typical" frames fit her daughter, Dellapina designed a line of eyeglass frames for children with Down Syndrome and other special needs. Dellapina states her mission is simple, "To improve the sight and quality of life for children with special needs by providing custom frames that fit your children's unique needs." Dellapina named the line after her inspiration, her daughter Erin.
The frames were created to fit facial features common to children with Down Syndrome. The bridge was lowered to ensure the glasses sit correctly across the nose. The temples were designed to help keep the glasses from constantly sliding.
"We are proud to offer Erin's World frames to our patients," stated Don Bye, Shopko Vice President of Optical Services. "There is a need for these frames and we are pleased to work with Mrs. Dellapina to respond to that need. With the convenience of Shopko Eyecare Centers and the comfort and fit of Erin's World frames, we believe that this partnership will have a lasting positive impact on our patients' health and day-to-day lives."
Erin's World frames are now available in a variety of styles and sizes for children. Call your local Shopko Eyecare Center to schedule an appointment to review the assortment.
