HOUSTON, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Shipcom Wireless, Inc., a leading global provider of enterprise Business Process Management (BPM) workflow simplification, that integrates mobility and RFID solutions, announced today that it will partner with DOKUMENTA AG (Germany), to develop a second generation Electronic Product Code (EPC Gen. 2) RFID solution, to help suppliers with compliance for the METRO Group's Future Store Initiative.
The Future Store Initiative is aimed at providing impetus to the technological changes that are taking place in the retail sector. Together with its partners, the METRO Group is developing feasible concepts with a vision of setting new technological standards centered on RFID technologies for the consumer goods industry.
DOKUMENTA AG has been a Silver partner of the initiative, since July 2007. The goal of this partnership is to support the suppliers of the METRO Group during the proposed RFID migration. Many of METRO's suppliers are currently evaluating RFID and related technologies, to comply with the Future Store initiative that requires pallet level tagging.
The goal of the partnership is to support METRO's supplier in implementing RFID technology successfully.
