Date:9/5/2007

HOUSTON, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Shipcom Wireless, Inc., a leading global provider of enterprise Business Process Management (BPM) workflow simplification, that integrates mobility and RFID solutions, announced today that it will partner with DOKUMENTA AG (Germany), to develop a second generation Electronic Product Code (EPC Gen. 2) RFID solution, to help suppliers with compliance for the METRO Group's Future Store Initiative.

The Future Store Initiative is aimed at providing impetus to the technological changes that are taking place in the retail sector. Together with its partners, the METRO Group is developing feasible concepts with a vision of setting new technological standards centered on RFID technologies for the consumer goods industry.

DOKUMENTA AG has been a Silver partner of the initiative, since July 2007. The goal of this partnership is to support the suppliers of the METRO Group during the proposed RFID migration. Many of METRO's suppliers are currently evaluating RFID and related technologies, to comply with the Future Store initiative that requires pallet level tagging.

The goal of the partnership is to support METRO's supplier in implementing RFID technology successfully. "The solution powered by Shipcom's 'CATAMARAN' platform extends ERP systems to the operational level, opening new avenues of operational visibility" said Abeezar Tyebji, CEO of Shipcom Wireless, Inc. "The faster implementation time effected by CATAMARAN, significantly reduces the chasm between slap-and-ship and business integration of RFID."

"The partnership with Shipcom is a great opportunity to develop the German market with a proven RFID Solution. Their long term RFID experience, combined with references from their blue chip clientele will help us build credibility with key German enterprises," said Matthias Knisig and Edmundo Ruiz, Executive Board Members of DOKUMENTA AG.

"The partnership not only provides the suppliers with support in the hardware and software implementation, but also makes available to them our rich mobility and RFID expertise that is derived from working on similar projects with the largest organizations in the world," said Mr. Tyebji. "Our solutions provide the kind of workflow simplification that enables 'Top-floor to Shop-floor' synchronization, leading to better business intelligence and decision making capabilities."
