Improving integrated medical management with use of Six Sigma Model

HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Keystone Peer Review Organization, Inc. (KePRO), a rapidly growing national, total population medical management firm, recently appointed Sharon McCudden to the position of Director of Business Process Improvement and Compliance. Reporting to Joseph A. Dougher, Chief Executive Officer, Ms. McCudden will build and implement a successful adoption plan to expand the use of Six Sigma in collaboration with all organizations across the enterprise.

Adopting the Six Sigma (DMAI2C) Model Process Improvement, Ms. McCudden will spearhead integrated medical management by building and deploying state of the art systems to improve effectiveness and efficiency internally and externally. Her mission is to leverage automation and integrate all components of medical management through quality initiatives.

Ms. McCudden is up to the challenge, possessing strong leadership abilities and having program, project, and process management acumen, as well as proven business development, procurement, and information technology expertise. Specifically, Ms. McCudden will provide leadership to help shape and set direction to implement and deploy process improvement and compliance. She will identify needs or gaps, recommend plans to close gaps, and ensure successful execution of program changes across the enterprise in order to leverage integrated medical management in process improvement. Ms. McCudden will also work with business development and operations staff to prepare for future growth opportunities.

She is an accomplished leader, with over 30 years of program management and strategic business development experience in the healthcare, financial, telecommunications, and pharmaceutical industries. Ms. McCudden joined KePRO from Horizon BlueCross/Blue Shield of New Jersey, where she was the senior manager - integrated medical management and strategic planning. She procured, contracted, developed, and implemented two Enterprise systems, and met ROI objectives through disciplined metrics. Her management acumen resulted in a decrease in cost per transaction for authorization and case management.

Ms. McCudden earned her B.A. in Psychology from Monmouth University in New Jersey; she received a B.S. in Pre-Med from Georgia Tech University. She was awarded a MIT Certificate for Unix Developing Tools and an Operational Excellence Award.

She earned numerous certifications from Villanova University, including Six Sigma Green Belt; Advances Masters in Strategic Planning, Procurement, and Project Management; IS Team Development and Effectiveness; and Six Sigma Lean Belt. She is currently working on her Six Sigma Black Belt. Ms. McCudden is also a member of the Project Management Organization, and an ASC member.
