Sharon Kleyne Observes World Water Day 2017
Date:3/22/2017

Sharon Kleyne is the founder and director of Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, which she created more than two decades ago to research evaporation of earth’s and the body’s water vapor and the supplementation of both with pure water that prolongs life and promotes better health. Also the host of the nationally syndicated radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Climate Change and Your Health on Voice of America, Kleyne marked the show’s 11th season as a leader in the global education about water and our current water crisis by looking forward to tomorrow—March 22nd, 1917—the 25th annual World Water Day.

World Water Day is appropriate because the earth and life itself began as living organisms of water and both remain so to this day. Kleyne reminded listeners that the human body is more than 70% water, that earth’s water vapor originally surrounded the planet, then gradually fell to earth and created the life forms, including humans, that we know today.

"The purpose of World Water Day," said Kleyne, "is to encourage us to pay attention to the importance of fresh water and its sustainable management and to acknowledge the global water crisis we all face." America’s leading water researcher and new water technology advocate, Kleyne believes that World Water Day is a perfect time to rededicate our efforts to capture the water that falls to earth, too much of which currently runs off to the oceans. "We need to discover new technology and build up our water infrastructure," Kleyne said, "or we will suffer massive drought and death throughout the world."

World Water Day was first proposed in Agenda 21 of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. A year later, the first World Water Day was designated by the United Nations General Assembly. Each year, the focus is on a different water-related issue. Previous World Water Day themes have included : "Water and Jobs (Better water, better jobs)" (2016), “Water and Sustainable Development" (2015) and “Water and Energy" (2014) among others.

This year’s theme is close to Kleyne’s heart, for she has spent more than two decades educating people about the need to supplement the evaporating water of earth and body. The 2017 theme, "Why Waste Water?"—focuses on reducing waste water and reusing it. The UN has pointed out that waste water is a valuable resource to increase water recycling and safe reuse. "At this moment," said Kleyne, "more than 663 million people lack clean water and are susceptible to higher incidents of disease and fatal illnesses. Needless to say," Kleyne continued, "many of these people are children and women."

In the past, water aid was something most people never talked about, but Kleyne is encouraged by the trend in recent years that sees more and more people donating money and time to several international organizations like http://www.worldhelp.net, give.lifewater.org among many other others. "Everyone on earth has to become involved," said Kleyne. "Taking care of the water is the only way that humans can be healthy. Water research must be at the heart of every feasible energy plan and implementation. We must educate people to take this water crisis seriously and make a difference throughout the world. We want to create new technology that will lead to more jobs in water research water infrastructure and water preservation. Only this," Kleyne concluded, "will ensure that life on this planet will continue forever."
