Shared Health(R) and Novo Innovations Partner for Improved Information-Sharing of Clinical Health Records
Date:5/19/2008

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Shared Health, Inc., one of the nation's largest public/private health information exchanges (HIE), and Novo Innovations, the leading healthcare provider of software agent technologies for health information exchange, are partnering to provide improved data integration delivered to clinicians at the point of care.

Shared Health is deploying Novo agent software to enhance the clinical interface capabilities of what is already one of the most scalable and sophisticated health exchange infrastructures in the country. This partnership enables both the small physician practice as well as large integrated delivery systems to quickly and economically connect to the Shared Health HIE, which is interoperable between any physician and hospital-based system.

The result is improved workflow and an economical means for health information exchange participation. The agent-based clinical health record allows clinicians with existing technology investments to maintain those investments while still being able to leverage the actionable information available on the Shared Health HIE.

"One of Shared Health's goals is to deliver solutions that reduce inefficiencies and fragmentation in clinical information exchange," said Jana Skewes, president and chief executive officer, Shared Health. "To that end, we are pleased to team with Novo Innovations as we continue to provide a method of improving the quality of care delivery to Tennesseans," she added.

Robert Connely, CEO of Novo Innovations, said, "Novo looks forward to this opportunity to partner with Shared Health to build a next-generation, state-wide, clinical information exchange. The combined strengths of Shared Health's community-based infrastructure and Novo's agent-grid technology offer a unique approach that can deliver a high degree of scalability, functionality and sustainable business value at a fraction of the time and effort normally associated wi
