Nationwide tour to impact the lives of one million families offering strategies for living a healthier life in these tough economic times

PLEASANTON, Calif., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Jamie McManus, Shaklee Corporation's Chief Medical Officer, will help launch a nationwide campaign this month to promote an opportunity that seeks to offer better health and economic support to one million families in 2009. The Infinite Possibilities tour comes to the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center Detroit-Livonia in Livonia, MI, on March 2nd.

"Families are struggling to make ends meet in this difficult economy," says McManus. "The cost of health care is accelerating, and many Americans are now without health insurance. We believe that taking care of your health is something you can control. We're a 50-year-old company with a revolutionary line of health products that are designed to help people live healthier lives."

The tour coincides with a burgeoning global economic crisis. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, almost 2.6 million people in the U.S. lost their jobs in 2008 alone, bringing the number of unemployed Americans to 11.1 million -- with unemployment figures expected to rise throughout 2009.

Founded in 1956, Shaklee Corporation is the number one natural nutrition company in the United States. According to company chairman and CEO Roger Barnett, Shaklee offers its members a revolutionary entrepreneurial opportunity to supplement earnings with part-time income -- or to develop a full-time income -- and gives people the potential to thrive, even during difficult economic times.

"We're in the business of doing well by doing good," Barnett says. "Shaklee has actually grown during the past seven economic downturns. Our economic growth, combined with products that make people and the planet healthier, make Shaklee a powerful force for good."

Dr. McManus will be speaking about preventative health strategies at 7 p.m. March 2nd at Radisson Hotel and Conference Center Detroit-Livonia in Livonia, MI; she will be joined by top Shaklee Million Dollar Earners, and experienced Business Leaders.

The event is free of charge and open to the public. For information on this campaign, call 1.800.SHAKLEE.
