OMAHA, Neb., March 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Sergeant's Pet Care Products today announces its acquisition of the consumer brands division of Virbac Corporation. The brands and technology acquired provide unique and proprietary pet care items that include internal and external health care products, dental solutions and an expansive aquatic line. Well recognized brands include WormXPlus(TM), WormX(R), Petrodex(R), Zema(R), Mardel(R), and LiveMeter(R).

WormXPlus(TM) is comparable to the veterinary brand Drontal(R), a well-known broad spectrum wormer marketed by Bayer to the veterinary channel.

Additional acquired products include Petrodex(R), home dental care products proven to help reduce plaque and tartar accumulation in dogs and cats; Zema(R), pesticides used to treat your home, pets, house and yard for fleas and ticks; and Mardel(R), a widely distributed name in the aquatic industry providing the fish enthusiast with medications for fish, water treatments and conditioners as well as a variety of test kits. Mardel(R) has been an industry leader for more than 30 years.
