Sentillion Releases Healthcare 'Do It Yourself' Tool for Single Sign-On and Context Management Application Interfaces
Date:4/6/2009

idges for a broad range of applications -- including Windows, Web, and terminal-based. The Vergence Wizard employs a unique point-and-click methodology that presents each Bridge's capabilities as a series of interactive animations. Each animation sequence corresponds to a use case that the Bridge handles, such as dealing with expired passwords. Each sequence can be easily configured to meet the specific needs of each target application. Steps in a sequence may be added, removed, or rearranged, and entirely new sequences can be established for use cases not built into the Wizard. Furthermore, because the Vergence Wizard employees a visually rich and intuitive movie-editing metaphor, hospitals can look beyond their technical staff to "non-programmers" to generate application interfaces to achieve SSO and context management for applications within their Vergence environment.

"While the development of the Vergence Wizard represents Sentillion's commitment to healthcare IT innovation, the true value of this solution lies in the simultaneous ability it provides an organization to control costs and deploy quickly," said Paul Roscoe, president of Sentillion. "Having the ability to self-administer application interfaces empowers an organization to extend the benefits of SSO and context management to clinical and business applications without restriction, but most importantly, it also provides a way to tap into new 'non-programmer' personnel resources, which eliminates the potential for overburdening IT resources."

In addition to fast single sign-on and managing expired passwords and graceful termination of applications at sign-off, the new Vergence Wizard includes the following key features:

  • Support for single sign-on and patient context management use cases
  • Point and click interface to select application controls and associated actions for Windows and Web-based applications
