Seniors Have a New Resource to Research Assisted Living Housing Options

Assisted Living Facilities launches with a nationwide directory of over 40,000 state-licensed senior living communities. A senior care blog and Q&A area also offer helpful advice and information for elders and their families considering assisted living.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) June 16, 2010 -- AssistedLivingFacilities.org is a new website that has launched to help senior citizens become more educated consumers as they make the decision to migrate from an independent living situation into assisted living housing. The transition into senior housing is one that brings along with it many questions and Assisted Living Facilities is a resource geared towards informing potential assisted living residents to alleviate concerns.

Over the last couple of decades, assisted living has emerged as an ideal private pay senior housing option for the elderly no longer able to live independently but also not in need of 24-hour medical care, such as that offered in a nursing home. However, since assisted living is regulated at the state level, and not nationally, differing licensing requirements and different terminology exists between states throughout the country. This is where Assisted Living Facilities tries to educate and inform.

Assisted Living Facilities strives to offer consumers as much unbiased information as possible relating to assisted living as it is defined by a specific state. The assisted living directory contains all the licensed facilities for each state, over 40,000 nationwide. In addition, the specific state requirements are explained in detail while the specific state contacts are also offered
