Senator Sam Brownback and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers to Speak at Blogs for Life 2009

WASHINGTON, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Senator Sam Brownback and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers will join Family Research Council's Blogs for Life, on Thursday, January 22, 2009. The conference will also feature several prominent conservative voices including Amanda Carpenter, Jill Stanek, Michael New, Ph.D., Charmaine Yoest, Ph.D., Michael Illions, Peter Shinn, Chris Gacek, J.D., and Martha Shuping, M.D. all speaking with bloggers live from Family Research Council's headquarters.

Senator Brownback is one of the foremost proponents of life within the Senate. He has been involved with extensive pro-life legislation in Congress including the sponsorship of the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act, which would require doctors to inform pregnant women that expert testimony shows that unborn babies can feel pain after 20 weeks. Rep. McMorris Rodgers has been a consistent advocate for the unborn throughout her time in Congress. She founded the Congressional Down Syndrome Caucus and co-chairs the Congressional Women's Caucus which seeks to better the lives of women and families.

Blogs for Life is the fourth annual conference of pro-life bloggers and is scheduled on the day of the 36th annual March for Life, during which tens of thousands of pro-life citizens gather in the nation's capital to celebrate life and demand the reversal of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion.
