Securityhunter Moves up the Inc. 500/5000 Fastest Growing Companies List
Date:9/3/2013

(PRWEB) September 03, 2013

Securityhunter has moved up the ranks of fastest-growing private companies in America, according to Inc. Magazine. Securityhunter moved up the ranks of the top 5000 privately owned companies in America, moving from number 1464 in 2012 to number 551 in the year 2013. This advancement reflects a three-year increase in revenue of 820% over the past three years. Securityhunter was ranked as number six of the top 100 fastest growing security companies in America, as the 24th fastest growing company of the top 100 companies in Maryland, and as the tenth fastest growing company of all businesses in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Reflecting on moving up the Inc. 5000 list, Michael Rogers, CEO of Securityhunter, said, "It is a privilege to have leveraged Securityhunter’s subject matter expertise in securing our nation.”

In the past, government related services were among the top industries represented on the Inc. 500 list. Most of Securityhunter’s contracts provide electronic security services for federal government clients. Over the past 3 years, the number of government contractors on the Inc. 500 list fell 40%, and the total revenue in this sector is down 72%. Despite this trend, Securityhunter, a government prime contractor, has grown in both the number contracts and in the total revenue of government contracts it services. “We expect our federal business to continue to soar. Sales should double over the next two years,” says Mr. Rogers.

Securityhunter is a privately owned electronic security company. Originally started in 1988 as a one-man alarm company, it has evolved into a powerhouse for federal security. Securityhunter designs, manufactures and installs electronic and physical security systems that are used by federal agencies, including the Department of Defense and the Department of Health and Human Services. Currently, federal sales, including Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) compliant solutions, comprise the majority of Securityhunter's sales.
