Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating Partners With Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council to Provide Discounts for Hospital Patients and Employees
Date:11/17/2009

OTTAWA, Ill., Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating (SSHE) and the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council (MCHC) have come together to provide MCHC affiliated members with meal discounts for SSHE.

MCHC is a membership and service association comprised of more than 140 hospitals and health care organizations dedicated to improving the health of the public by enhancing access to health care and in assisting its members in improving the delivery of services in the greater metropolitan Chicago area.

The first member hospital to use the new program is Northwest Community Hospital (NCH) in Arlington Heights, Ill. Recently discharged patients and employees of NCH receive a special promotion discount for ordering SSHE meals. Packets of information are provided along with a promotion code that needs to be used upon ordering to receive the discount.

"We were certain we could help with the planning, shopping and cooking for recently discharged hospital patients and their families. When we first spoke to MCHC about a possible partnership, I was immediately enthused about the opportunity to help those who need us to continue with their healing process after being discharged from the hospital," said Seattle Sutton, RN, BSN, Founder and President of Seattle Sutton's Healthy Eating.

Sutton continued, "We are very focused on health and wellness as a company and saw a natural fit to help the hospital's employees stay healthy as well. We know from numerous studies that healthy employees are more productive, happier and enjoy their work much more. We're so glad to offer the discount to them, as well as recently discharged patients."

The idea to partner MCHC and SSHE was born from a personal experience an executive at MCHC had with their own family member who was discharged from the hospital and needed help with healthy, balanced meals. Then, the "light bulb" moment went off about how MCH
