Seattle Assisted Living Community Recognizes Importance of Music and Dance with Busy January Event Schedule
Date:12/31/2012

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) December 31, 2012

Music and dance have come to be known as important components to the health and well-being of seniors. They can go a long way towards encouraging social interaction and self expression, especially for seniors with varying degrees of cognitive impairment. Bayview Manor, an assisted living Seattle community, takes this very seriously, as shown by their upcoming January schedule of events.

For over 50 years Baview Manor Retirement Community has made its guiding principle to provide its residents with a wide range of services that support a positive and productive view on aging. Residents are offered the conveniences and amenities of Seattle retirement community living, while being assisted in remaining independent and active for as long as possible. An engaging and diverse program of musical performances and participatory dance events have played no small role.

Through music and dance, seniors find ways to transform the experience of aging, with the support of a community that encourages self-worth and artistic expression. Whether these events are world class performances by talented dancers and musicians, or participatory classes that instruct, the effects are palpable.

A vast array of studies have offered both statistical and anecdotal evidence supporting the positive influence of music on the well-being of seniors. Most of the conclusions point to the multi-faceted aspect of music and the cognitive activity with which it is associated. It has been said that no other single activity that experts know of can stimulate as much of the brain as experiencing music.

So with this in mind, throughout January,
