SeQual Technologies is Awarded the U.S. Army Airworthiness Certification
Date:1/22/2009

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- SeQual Technologies Inc., a medical equipment manufacturer which develops oxygen systems known worldwide for their reliability, quality, and revolutionary design and economy, announces they have received the Airworthiness Release (AWR) from the U.S. Army's Research, Development, and Engineering Command for the Eclipse Oxygen Concentrator 1000A. The certification indicates that the Eclipse(R) Oxygen Concentrator 1000A is in compliance with the U.S. Department of Defense medical device certification criteria and is now certified for use aboard MEDEVAC H-60 Black Hawk helicopters.

The U.S. Army's Aeromedical Research Laboratory does extensive aeromedical testing that includes electromagnetic interference and compatibility, environmental and human factors testing in the laboratory as well as in-flight assessments by engineers and medical per-sonnel under a variety of flight conditions.

"Supporting our military with a first class product is an honor. Our mission is to offer the most reliable oxygen generating system that soldiers can depend on in the most extreme situations," says Pam Jackson, Senior Director of SeQual Technologies. "With the Eclipse HT receiving the Airworthiness Certification, medical grade oxygen can now be delivered during all phases of patient transport with substantial simplification and safety."

The Eclipse Oxygen Concentrator 1000A offers immediate, robust, dependable oxygen delivery and supports individual patients far forward on the battlefield and during medial evacuation missions. It is a small, lightweight point-of-use generator that can be moved with the patient which produces 93% +/- 3 medical grade oxygen and powered by AC/DC or battery. The system eliminates the safety hazards of pressurized oxygen and logistical burden of continual resupply of oxygen cylinders.
