Sciton Introduces ProLipo PLUS(TM), the Most Robust Laser-Assisted Lipolysis System Available
Date:12/1/2008

PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Sciton introduces ProLipo PLUS(TM), an FDA-cleared, minimally invasive, ultra high-powered laser system for ablating and melting unwanted fat, resulting in collagen remodeling and tissue tightening. ProLipo PLUS combines 1064 nm and 1319 nm wavelengths in one laser for optimal body sculpting results. Frequently used as an adjunct to traditional liposuction, it can also be utilized as a standalone procedure for patients who are not candidates for traditional liposuction.

"Because ProLipo PLUS is faster and more powerful than other laser-assisted lipolysis systems the procedure takes much less time. Furthermore, it offers the broadest range of customizable treatment parameters," said Marc Salzman, MD, a plastic surgeon practicing in Louisville, Ky. With 30 watts of power at 1064 nm and 20 watts at 1319 nm, ProLipo PLUS is the most powerful laser-assisted lipolysis system available.

Sciton's ProLipo PLUS offers physicians a new level of flexibility -- its dual wavelength capability means that physicians can choose to use each of the wavelengths alone or combine the benefits of both wavelengths. This new technology provides a way to remove fat and tighten tissue thereby diminishing loose skin associated with liposuction.

"My patients are delighted with ProLipo," said Dr. Salzman. "ProLipo PLUS combines high power 1064 nm and 1319 nm wavelengths allowing me to remove fat and tighten tissue quickly and easily with one system. Doing so gives the highest patient satisfaction I've seen with any laser. I also like that there are no expensive consumable fibers." Sciton's ProLipo non-proprietary fiber delivery system protects physicians from unacceptably high per-case disposable costs.

"We developed the ProLipo PLUS system to meet the increasing demand for a minimally invasive body sculpting laser treatment that can be safely and comfortably done w
