(PRWEB) October 24, 2013

Garland Engineering Services Group now offers a comprehensive, scientific building envelope evaluation service that helps a building owner to determine the best energy-cost-reducing options for roof and wall remediation projects. This new service package helps clients see the relationship between utility cost savings and solution options in order to make more educated decisions based on principles such as total cost of ownership and sustainability.

Charbel Boulos, P.Eng, president of Garland Canada Inc, remarks, “Building owners are seeking ways to solve the maintenance problems of aging facilities, while trying to be sustainable and reduce costs. Through our Building Envelope Services, we offer clients a best-value approach. First, we determine their facility's energy and sustainability goals; then we provide practical, service-life-extending solutions.”

Building Envelope Services is provided in three phases:

  • Phase 1, Assessment, involves historical research, an inventory of building envelope components and their current condition, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Phase 2, Energy Evaluation, consists of an energy audit of the building envelope and a life-cycle cost analysis of the potential energy savings that can be realized from recommended improvements.
  • Phase 3, Environmental, is a risk assessment for the building and subsequent recommendations for materials and/or services that can improve air quality, eliminate or minimize the use of hazardous materials, and reduce other safety and wellness hazards related to the exterior building envelope.

Garland Canada Inc. provides solutions for today’s commercial building industry to private and public sector customers coast to coast. Founded in 1987 as a fully owned subsidiary of Garland Industries, Garland Canada is a multi-million dollar business with employees strategically located throughout the country, who help stimulate each regional economy by working with an extensive network of locally based roofing contractors to install high-performance roofing, wall, and flooring systems.
