Scienceroll.com on The Future of Medicine: E-patients Will Shape Healthcare
Date:4/3/2009

DEBRECEN, Hungary, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Bertalan Mesko, medical blogger and health 2.0 consultant published a slideshow that he presented in Nijmegen, The Netherlands at a Health 2.0 event where he focused on describing how e-patients would shape the future of medicine. E-patients are patients who communicate with their doctors via webcam or e-mail; search for medical information online and sometimes they are more up-to-date than their own doctors because they use the advantages web 2.0 provides.

In his slideshow, he highlighted how important it is that medical professionals must become guides for their patients on-line. That is the only way they can provide them with medically reliable information.
