Schofield Publishing Enters the Newsletter Market
Date:9/4/2008

BOSTON, CHICAGO, LONDON, NEW YORK, NORWICH, England and ONGAR, Ireland, Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Schofield Publishing, a division of Schofield Media Europe Ltd, announced on the 29th August that it has acquired Health and Safety Monitor publication from Silverdog Publishing.

Health and Safety Monitor was launched at the same time as the iconic Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and has tracked the developing legislation since then. It has been relied upon by blue-chip corporates, independent consultants, NHS Trusts and local government for its no-nonsense commentary and thorough understanding of how the regulatory framework affects day-to-day business. The publication targets practitioners involved in overseeing health and safety issues within their respective businesses, by providing concise briefings and important information affecting business today.

Silverdog Publishing, who owned the title since 2006, developed the publication's online presence in anticipation for future growth as UK law converges with EU regulations, such as REACH, widening the readership and influence of the publication.

This transaction represents the third acquisition by Schofield Publishing in three years, and adds the first newsletter to its UK stable of 16 business-to-business magazines.

Mike Tulloch, Schofield Publishing MD, believes the acquisition the natural next step for the company. He said: "Health and safety is a topic that cuts across all the titles we currently publish, and fits well with our portfolio. Also The Health and Safety Monitor brings us into the newsletter publishing market, a new area for us but one that I believe offers a lot of further opportunities."

Founder and CEO of the entire Schofield Media Group, Andrew Schofield concluded: "I see the acquisition of The Health and Safety Monitor as a continuation of the growth that Schofield Publishing has enjoyed over the past years. Newsletter publishing is an exciting new development for the company and l look forward to taking this venture forward."

Founded in 1999, Schofield Media Group publishes business-to-business magazines and operates conferences and events in the United States, Europe and Asia. The company maintains offices in London, Norwich, Aberdeen and Essex in the United Kingdom and Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles and New York City in the United States. Divisions include Schofield Publishing, Schofield Healthcare Media, Schofield Media Chicago, Ideal Media and RedCoat Publishing. http://www.schofieldmediagroup.com
