Schering-Plough Declares Quarterly Dividends on Common Shares and Mandatory Convertible Preferred Stock

KENILWORTH, N.J., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Board of Directors of Schering-Plough Corporation (NYSE: SGP) today declared a quarterly dividend of 6.5 cents per common share. Payment will be made on May 26, 2009, to shareholders of record at the close of business on May 1, 2009. As of Jan. 31, 2009, there were 1,626,412,285 common shares outstanding.

The Board of Directors today also declared a quarterly dividend of $3.75 per share on the 2007 Mandatory Convertible Preferred Stock. Payment will be made on May 15, 2009, to holders of record at the close of business on May 1, 2009. There are currently 10 million shares of 2007 Mandatory Convertible Preferred Stock outstanding.
