Scanmarket Names Sourcing Industry Veteran as Sales Leader in North America
Date:6/6/2013

Alpharetta, GA (PRWEB) June 06, 2013

Scanmarket has a long and successful history in Europe, helping our customers achieve their sourcing and procurement goals. As we expand our presence in North America, we were looking for an industry leader with sourcing expertise, regional knowledge, and above all a passion for helping companies get the most value out of their programs,” said Ole Nielsen, CEO of Scanmarket North America. “Kris provides us with all these and we’re excited to have him join the Scanmarket team.”

Colby is a sourcing industry veteran with experience at companies such as VerticalNet, Ariba, WorldWide Retail Exchange and FedBid. He has helped many organizations develop, implement and optimize strategic sourcing programs. In his role at Scanmarket, Colby will be responsible for sales, marketing and channel relationships as well as customer management and program support.

“ESourcing is well-accepted as a significant value creation lever for organizations, both in cost savings and efficiency,” said Colby. “However, few companies have broadly adopted eSourcing into their day-to-day business process. This apparent disconnect is due to the fact that tools have become too complex and difficult to use and lack of adequate support, both of which reduce adoption. Success in sourcing lies in making the tools easy enough to enable broader use and throughput. I’ve been around many sourcing platforms over the last ten-plus years and Scanmarket’s tools and support are the best I’ve seen to allow enable companies to fully realize the promise of eSourcing.”

“The formula for sourcing success is really pretty simple. A user-friendly solution with the right support leads to broader adoption. Broader adoption leads to higher sourcing throughput. Higher throughput leads to more savings and a higher ROI. A
